As I finish preparing for the upcoming Cycle 3 of Classical Conversations, I am amazed at all the wonderful resources out there. I know that I'm not the only momma who is grateful for help when planning out the school year, so I wanted to share what I found with you. All of these resources are available on CC Connected unless noted otherwise.
- Cycle 3 Flip-Book- by Melody Stroud (melodystroud) of "And Here We Go!"
- I used this last year when I was tutoring to write up my board each week, for review games, and to have a handy reference when finding relevant books at the library.
- Cycle 3 History Cards- by Melody Stroud
- I used these last year for History Sentence review. They were great to help my non-readers be able to break down the sentence and put the different parts in order.
- Cycle 3 History Cards- by Brandy Ferrell (brandyferrell) of "Half a Hundred-Acre Wood" blog
- http://www.halfahundredacrewood.com/2011/09/chainsaw-chaos-week-6-of-cc-cycle-3.html
- Cycle 3 Trivial Pursuit Cards with New Grammar
- Trival Prusuit Cards Cycle 3.pdf on CC Connected
- US States Bingo Game- by "Relentlessly Fun, Deceptively Educational" blog
- http://deceptivelyeducational.blogspot.com/2011/09/united-states-bingo-game.html
- This is a great game for non-readers as it has all of the states drawn on the Bingo board and in color (to help differentiate between similar states). Definitely something I plan to use during tutor review time.
- Planning Binder by Kelli Wilt of "Magistra Mommy" blog
- http://magistramommy.blogspot.com/2013/07/school-simplified-my-homeschool-planners.html
- I have yet to use this but it love the idea of having everything (weekly lesson plans, reciepts, etc.) in one location.
- Cycle 2- The Year at a Glance- by Jennifer of "Teaching Boys"
- She doesn't appear to have made one for Cycle 3 yet, but this is a great at a glance resource to help keep you on track with New Grammar week by week.
- Mini Timeline Review Cards- by Danielle Cyrus (daniellecyrus) of "Growing Because of His Grace" blog
- http://growingbecauseofhisgrace.wordpress.com/
- These look great for using as a tutor during review time. You could give each two students 7 cards from one of the previous 6 weeks and see who can put them in order first.
- Timeline Card Stickers -2 by 4 label- .pdf
- Timeline Flashcards - Ancient World set.pdf
- Timeline Flash Cards - Middle Ages set.pdf
- Timeline Flashcards - New World set.pdf
- Timeline Flashcards - Modern World set.pdf
Well, that's it for this post but I'll be sure and add more as time allows. Hope you find these links as helpful as I have in my planning.
